On November 10th, 2013, Orlando Kannada Sangha (OKS) celebrated Rajyothsava 2013 in the Hindu Temple community Hall. Among the highlights was ಒಬ್ಬಟ್ಟು imported specially from Bengalooru for this event!
OKS celebrated Kannada Rajyothsava on November 10th, 2013 with the theme of ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿ (Kannada kali). On this day, each and every child in OKS practiced and recited a Kannada poem individually.
That evening was filled with a variety of entertainment such as, Kannada music which included solo and group performances, dances performed by various age groups, and a Kannada drama, “Modern Ramayana” which was performed by boys and girls of OKS.
In addition to children reciting Kannada Poem and various entertainment, one of the main highlights of the evening was ಒಬ್ಬಟ್ಟು (obaTTu). ಒಬ್ಬಟ್ಟು was specially imported from Bengalooru for this event!
New committee members were elected for the year 2014. The event was ended with a trophy distribution for all the children who participated in the Rajoyotsava as well as the sports event winners earlier in the year.
