Orlando Kannada Sanghaದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಹಬ್ಬ!ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಗಳು ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.. ಮತ್ತೆ, ಇನ್ನು ತಡ ಬೇಡ, ಬನ್ನಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಜೋತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಕರುನಾಡ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಸಂಭ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸೋಣ….

Orlando Kannada Sangha is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization committed to, among other objectives, bringing together all those residing in Central Florida and surrounding areas who are interested in cultural and linguistic heritage of Kannada and Karnataka, India.
Kannada Rajyotsava is our annual end of the year event celebrating the formation of Karnataka state as well as providing an opportunity for our Sangha members to come together and showcase their talent and creativity. Our goal is to ensure maximum participation and promote our next generation to learn, communicate, and entertain in Kannada.
We are happy to announce that this year, we will be hosting the annual Rajyotsava online on November 7, 2020 5:00 p.m.! The program will be streamed live for all the members.
We are also looking for MC and volunteers (Cultural committee and Tech Committee) to assist with organizing the event and manage technical issues during the program (we can offer volunteer hours for high schoolers!).
If you are not a member, the cost is $20 to perform or watch the program.

Election details and schedule
OKS board member elections is around the corner. All those who are deemed members of good standing for a year are eligible to contest for these positions. If we receive more eligible nominations than the positions open, elections may be conducted during the Rajyotsava event. We request all eligible members to consider serving on the board. Orlando Kannada Sangha can grow as more and more members get involved and actively participate in its activities and management. If you have any questions regarding the board activities, responsibilities or the work involved, please reach out to any of the existing board members or by emailing us at boardmember@orlandokannadasangha.org.
Any OKS member who is current on sangha dues is eligible to self nominate to serve on the board. The following schedule will be utilized for the 2020 election:
Submit nominations: 1st October
Last day to Submit nominations: 25th October
Last date to withdraw nominations: 1st November
Conduct elections, if needed: 7th November
An election officer will be coordinating the elections. Please submit self nominations to boardmember@orlandokannadasangha.org
Office Bearer positions & their responsibilities
Positions are determined in January during the board formation and transition.
President: Head of the organization, conducts meetings, signatory authority for checks
Vice-President: Assumes role of President during President’s absence, serve on committees, attend meetings
Secretary: Maintains meeting minutes, sends notices for board meetings, communication to community
Treasurer: Maintains the OKS bank account, issues checks, tracks expenses, presents OKS financial situation annually
General Board Members: Serve on committees, attend meetings, vote on expenses, event handling
